What is Erasmus+?

Erasmus+ is an educational programme of the European Union that supports international cooperation and trips abroad. It involves students and teachers, but also apprentices, volunteers or youth leaders of amateur sports organisations.

Why go abroad?

  • To improve your foreign language skills.
  • Employers value the experience of studying or working abroad.
  • Not only will you learn about the local culture and customs, but you will most likely learn a lot about yourself.
  • You'll gain the confidence and determination you need, find out what you're good at and get clearer about what you want to do in the future.
  • You'll have lots of fun and adventure and make new friends, perhaps for life.
  • It's completely normal to be apprehensive before going abroad, but the feeling of having done it is simply priceless.

What are the objectives and important characteristics of Erasmus+?

The general objective of the programme is to support the education, professional and personal development of people in education, training, youth and sport in Europe and beyond through lifelong learning, thereby contributing to sustainable growth, quality jobs and social cohesion, stimulating innovation and strengthening European identity and active citizenship. The programme is thus a key instrument for building the European Education Area, supporting the implementation of European strategic cooperation in education and training through sector-specific agendas.
